Como novedad, este año los fans podrán participar en The Game Awards a través del servidor oficial de Discord, que ofrecerá juegos interactivos, eventos exclusivos -incluyendo AMAs de desarrolladores de juegos con Geoff Keighley- y la posibilidad de votar por los nominados en las semanas previas a The Game Awards 2022. Además, los miembros de Discord pueden unirse a la fiesta de observación en directo del 8 de diciembre para ver la entrega de premios y reaccionar a los ganadores en tiempo real.

Desde hoy y hasta el 7 de diciembre, los fans podrán ayudar a elegir a los ganadores en todas las categorías a través de la votación online autentificada y el servidor oficial de Discord para The Game Awards utilizando el bot de votación oficial de los TGA. 

The Game Awards se emitirá en directo desde el Microsoft Theater el jueves 8 de diciembre de 2022, con premios, anuncios de nuevos juegos en primicia mundial. En las próximas semanas se anunciarán detalles sobre otras actuaciones musicales, presentadores y estrenos mundiales.
